Sherpa Guide uses a personal, holistic, collaborative approach to understanding a student’s distinctive qualities and building an application which will stand out to Admissions for the best potential results. Over the years of helping students get into colleges they love, I’ve built an approach that is tailored to each individual student, showcasing what makes them unique.

A Personal Touch

According to US Department of Education data, in 2015-16 each public school counselor was, on average, responsible for 470 students.

I work personally 1:1 with every student

360 degree PERSONAL PROFILE

My approach takes into account that it’s not only grades and SAT/ACT scores that admissions teams need to see - they’re interested in a 360 degree, holistic view of every student.

We assemble a completely personal application, not like the best friend or the cousin’s application – one that highlights the student’s accomplishments, style and personality as well as what diverse qualities he/she would bring to campus as an incoming freshman.

Sherpa works with students of all abilities and achievements - you don’t need to have a 4.0 to get into college! My goal is to make you stand out in the crowd and highlight what makes you unique.

SELECTING THE RIGHT COLLEGES

Together, our school research targets colleges which match your profile, narrowing them down as we progress to a list that not only fits your interests and desires, but has the potential of giving you a higher probability of acceptances.

Not everyone will or should be accepted to Harvard, but with over 4,000 universities in the US, there’s sure to be several to make each student and parent smile.

ROBUST PROCESS MANAGEMENT

My process reduces stress for both student and parents by chronologically laying out tasks to be done, breaking them down into manageable pieces and respecting a timeline. I work with students in person, via phone calls, through email, using Skype or videoconferencing.

COLLABORATION & TRANSPARENCY

Successful applicants need support. Although this is a student-driven process, I work with families to make sure that both students and parents are on the same page.

I am all about an honest approach; I am emphatic that my process be transparent, clear and straightforward, and that the family is in agreement as to the end goals. Understanding both parents and students (and making sure they understand each other!) propels us towards a more successful result. My goal is to get everyone on the same page to support the student and gain the best possible outcome!
